Birmingham City have made an ambitious £7.5m offer for West Ham target Henry Onyekuru.
Manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed the Championship side have made a contract offer to former Chelsea captain John Terry but they intend to add greater quality throughout the squad.
Sportsmail reported earlier this week that West Ham have been told they will have to pay £7.87m for Eupen winger Onyekuru to aid his chances of gaining a work permit.
Birmingham’s offer is understood to be the largest on the table for the Nigeria international at this stage. However, they will also be wary of pushing their squad expenditure close to FFP guidelines.
The 20-year-old Onyekuru is keen to join West Ham and was hoping to travel over this week for talks but is now spending time with his family as a fee has yet to be agreed.
West Ham continue to focus on bringing in a centre forward but will also look to sell a number of players this summer.
