Chelsea Eliminated Liverpool In Carabao Cup

Liverpool’s perfect record this season finally meet its end, though it was not in the league as Jurgen Klopp’s men were beaten by Chelsea this midweek in Carabao Cup early round.

Having a tight schedule with another scheduled meeting on the weekend, both teams didn’t start their best possible line up for this tournament, but the prestige remain high knowing how both sides looked to be rivals so far this season.

Albeit not being considered as a prime target by both sides, Liverpool and Chelsea still putting on a solid display since kick off, playing their attacking minded style of football from kick off.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, it was the home side that got themselves in front, through Daniel Sturridge’s effort on 58 minutes.

However, that lead was eventually canceled out when Emerson Palmieri found the back of Liverpool’s net on 79 minutes, not long before Eden Hazard finally sent the visitor through into the next round with his sublime effort.

Coming on as a substitute, Hazard showed his quality in the final 10 minutes as he created tons of havoc, which eventually resulted in an excellent individual effort five minutes from time.

The Reds’ valiant effort to get themselves back into that tie were fruitless though as they don’t have enough time to score another goal, thus forced to accept defeat for this current season.
