Chelsea continuing their fine start into the new Premier League season as they picked up another victory, this time a 2-0 result over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
Playing in front of their home ground, The Blues immediately took control of proceedings as they put on their possession based attacking football into work straight from kick off.
Despite controlling the tie, it was not an easy task for Maurizio Sarri’s side to break down their opponent as Bournemouth put on a solid defensive display forcing the home team to settle for a goalless first 45 minutes.
It took a while, but Chelsea’s efforts were finally rewarded when Pedro broke the dead lock on 72 minutes with his goal, which was followed by a second one by Hazard five minutes from time.
That result means that The Blues have recorded perfect result on their first four league games in the Premier League, equaling Liverpool points as both teams topping the current standing.
Meanwhile, defending champions, Manchester City got themselves back on winning ways after picking up a slightly disappointing draw in their previous league fixture.
Keen on redeeming themselves following that 1-1 result against Wolverhampton Wanderers, City put on an aggressive display against Newcastle United since the start and got themselves in front after just eight minutes through Raheem Sterling.
However, that lead didn’t last the whole first half as Newcastle found their way back into that tie with Deandre Yedlin’s effort on 30 minutes.
Man City regained their advantage though early in the second half, thanks to a fine effort from their full back, Kyle Walker.
