The big match opening fixture for UEFA Nations League encounter ended in a rather disappointing outcome as neither teams failed to win or even score any goals during that match.
Being considered as one of the highly anticipated clash in the new international football competition created by UEFA, the battle between recent World Cup winner against its predecessor were interesting but lacking some sparks indeed.
Notably for Les Blues as they seems to be experiencing that post World Cup hangover, despite fielding most of their main players who have successfully won the major competition last July.
The home team were slightly looking more determined as they were eager in getting their stature back following a disappointing World Cup 2018 experience, which saw them getting out of the group stage.
Nevertheless, knowing that the European club leagues have just started, it looked like many of the players are still far from their best shape and keen on avoiding any unnecessary injuries.
Although the new competition’s idea was to create a more exciting and competitive international fixture during FIFA international calendar, but it’s very understandable that both Joachim Loew and Didier Deschamps’ side are still playing with some caution.
Until the final whistle was blown, no goals were scored on that tie as both sides would be that disappointing to start their UEFA Nations League fixture with just one point.
