Man United Victorious In Europa League
Jose Mourinho’s gamble in not pushing for English Premier League’s top four finish paid off eventually as his team, Manchester United won the Europa League this season.
That success not just brings them a trophy, but also that massive ticket into Champions League football next season.
Being considered as a slight gamble by some, apparently Mourinho’s strategy work into perfection as United did defeat Ajax Amsterdam 2-0.
Knowing the sacrifice they made, United players tried to put on an early pressure towards their opponent in that game.
That aggressive effort was eventually rewarded as they went one goal up after 18 minutes of play through Paul Pogba’s deflected effort.
Ajax tried to get back into the match afterwards as Mourinho’s men were more content in playing through the counter.
The Dutch side’s naive youth display was very visible indeed as despite having more possession, they found themselves conceding the second goal, this time from Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal.
No more goals were scored afterwards as Man United can be delighted with the way they ended their season with that important result, which is qualifying again for Champions League football.
Although league wise, they might not achieve their main target for the season, but their Europa League success can slightly redeem their Premier League disappointment.
