Paris Saint-Germain’s veteran defender, Dani Alves had his world cup dream ended recently due to his knee injury, which the player picked up last Tuesday during his club’s Coupe de France final.
Having to miss his potential participation for Russia within the final days of his team’s fixtures certainly isn’t an easy thing to cope, but Alves apparently is content with everything.
Shouting out his mind via The Players’ Tribune, the former Barcelona star confessed that he remains a happy person despite not making it to Russia this year.
Alves added that he has basically been living his dream up til now, so despite feeling disappointed of not being able to play for Selecao in that major tournament, the right back is not putting out any sad faces.
Furthermore, the 35-year-old admitted that as soon as he was feeling the pain from that injury, he immediately knew that his world cup dream has finally ended.
Despite not being able to participate, Alves will continue to support Selecao, especially since he believes that his current teammates have what it takes to go all the way and win it all.
The defender believes that Brazil simply have that right mix of experienced, super star and talented players, who can bring success for them in Russia.
