Liverpool were on the verge of losing another match against Chelsea this weekend if not for Daniel Sturridge Stunning long range effort that rescued a point for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Suffering a 2-1 defeat on their midweek Carabo Cup battle, The Reds were looking determined to showcase their quality in the Premier League, but it was far from a comfortable for them.
Chelsea looked brighter during the first 45 minutes as they put their opponent under so many pressure, which eventually lead to the opening goal scored by Eden Hazard on 25 minutes.
Both teams continue to push hard in search for goals, but Hazard’s strike was the only one separating both teams as they go into half time break.
Liverpool tried to push forward harder in the second half as they got more possession compared to their first 45 minutes, but continue risking conceding more from Chelsea’s fast counter attacking play.
Despite creating several opportunities, The Reds looked struggling at times and could’ve found themselves in more problems should the home side finished better in that second half.
However, fortune apparently hasn’t really deserted Klopp’s boys as late in the match they were able to get a goal out of nowhere as Sturridge fired a long range effort which somehow found its way into Chelsea’s goal.
Maurizio Sarri’s men tried to push hard again in search for a late winner, but none of their efforts were successful as both teams must settle for a point at Stamford Bridge.
