Social commentator Geh Geh has defended himself against growing criticism over his relationship advice, insisting that people are solely responsible for the decisions they make in their personal lives.
His response comes days after reports emerged that he had tied the knot, prompting renewed scrutiny of his long-held views on relationships and marriage.
Addressing the backlash in a video shared online, Geh Geh dismissed claims that his advice had caused people to leave their partners. According to him, anyone who walked away from a relationship after listening to him was already unhappy long before seeking his opinion.
Drawing a comparison with employment, he argued that no one would voluntarily quit a job earning ₦1.5 million a month for one paying ₦100,000 simply because another person suggested it. In his view, people only make such decisions when they have already lost confidence in their current situation.
Geh Geh maintained that he has never told anyone to break up with a partner, stressing that his opinions are merely perspectives and should not be mistaken for instructions. He emphasised that every individual must take responsibility for the choices they make.
His remarks have further fuelled conversations online, with supporters backing his explanation while critics continue to debate the influence of his relationship advice following reports of his marriage.
