Reality TV star Mercy Eke has revealed that peer pressure and the popularity of the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure influenced her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery.
Naija Brain reports that Eke made the disclosure during an interview with Korty EO, explaining that she deliberately kept her decision from her mother because she knew she would strongly oppose it.
The winner of Big Brother Naija Season 4 described the recovery process as painful, particularly during the first three days after the surgery.
According to Eke, patients are unable to sit or sleep on their backs for about two weeks while recovering from the procedure.
Despite the difficult recovery, she said she is pleased with the results and now feels more comfortable with her body.
She said, “I got a BBL because it was trending and there was a lot of peer pressure. I didn’t tell my mum because I knew she would discourage me. You can’t sleep on your bum for 14 days, and you’ll cry for the first three days from the pain… but look, it’s soft now.”
