Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has issued a public apology to Nigerians following the backlash over his controversial comments about indigenous languages, saying he never intended to offend anyone.

While addressing the controversy, Mr P also claimed that his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), seized the opportunity to criticise him, alleging that the backlash was used to further fuel their long-standing public disagreement.
According to Mr P, Rudeboy's response went beyond defending Nigerian culture, insisting that it was another attempt to publicly attack him.
Despite the ongoing family tensions, Mr P reiterated his respect for Nigeria's cultural diversity, stressing that he values the country's indigenous languages and apologising to everyone offended by his earlier statement.
