Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has candidly shared how his pursuit of a lavish lifestyle once led him to borrow money, admitting that the pressure to maintain a glamorous image influenced many of his financial decisions.
Speaking on a recent episode of the MENtality Podcast, the actor revealed that he regularly splurged on designer clothing, luxury accessories and other expensive purchases in a bid to keep up appearances.
Reflecting on that phase of his life, Timini said he has since realised that genuine fulfilment comes from inner peace rather than material possessions or the need to impress people online.
He also spoke about his former obsession with collecting perfumes, revealing that he once owned about 150 bottles. Looking back, he said the money spent on the collection could have been invested in appreciating assets such as land.
"There will always be a newer watch, a newer car," the actor said, explaining that he has come to understand the importance of making smarter financial choices instead of constantly chasing luxury.
Timini's remarks have resonated with many fans, sparking conversations about financial responsibility, lifestyle inflation and the pressures celebrities often face to project wealth and success.
