Veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is battling stage-four cancer, with his daughters appealing for urgent medical assistance to help save his life.
The actor’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, reportedly made emotional appeals for medical experts, hospitals and individuals with access to specialised cancer treatment to come to their father’s aid.
The family clarified that their appeal is not for financial donations, but for medical intervention and professionals who can assess the actor’s condition and explore possible treatment options.
According to the family, Ogogo’s condition has become critical, with one of his daughters claiming that some hospitals had stopped treating him.
Another daughter reportedly revealed that doctors had informed the family that chemotherapy was no longer an option for the actor at this stage of his illness.
The family said they only became fully aware of the severity of Ogogo’s condition about three weeks ago, despite the actor not initially appearing seriously ill.
Following the revelation, members of the Nigerian entertainment industry have rallied around the veteran actor, with colleagues and fans expressing concern and calling for urgent medical assistance.
Ogogo, who has enjoyed a career spanning several decades, is widely recognised as one of the prominent figures in the Yoruba movie industry, having featured in numerous Nigerian films.
