Real Madrid have released an official injury update on Kylian Mbappé after the France international underwent medical tests following his latest knee problem.
The Spanish giants confirmed that Mbappé has suffered an overstretch of the posterior capsule of his left knee.
In an official statement, Real Madrid said:
“Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an overstretch of the posterior capsule of his left knee. Evolution pending.”
The club did not provide a specific recovery timeline for the 27-year-old forward, meaning his return will depend on his progress during treatment and rehabilitation.
Mbappé has been a key player for Real Madrid since joining the club, with his potential absence coming as a concern for head coach Xabi Alonso as the season progresses.
What Happened to Kylian Mbappé?
Mbappé sustained the left-knee injury while playing for France against Turkey on Friday, September 25.
The Real Madrid forward scored France’s only goal in their 1-0 Nations League victory before going down with pain in his knee shortly after the goal.
Although he initially attempted to continue after receiving treatment, Mbappé was unable to play on and was substituted in the 58th minute.
How Long Will Kylian Mbappé Be Out?
Reports have suggested that Mbappé could be sidelined for around 10 to 12 days, but Real Madrid have yet to officially confirm the timeframe.
