Nigerian Afrobeats singer Spyro has revealed that he does not plan to leave generational wealth for his children, saying he does not believe in preserving money as inheritance.
Speaking with Nevon HQ, Spyro said he cannot determine how his children would use his wealth after his death, which is why he does not intend to leave it behind for them.
The singer also opened up about painful childhood experiences, alleging that his pastor father repeatedly accused him of stealing church money, publicly embarrassed him, and affected his self-confidence.

Spyro explained that he does not believe in deliberately accumulating wealth for his children to inherit after his death.
The Who’s Your Guy crooner said he has no way of knowing how his children would choose to use any wealth he leaves behind, making him reluctant to build an inheritance specifically for them.
He said, “I’m not part of the school of thought of leaving money down for children because, at the end of the day, after I’m gone, I don’t know what they will do with it.”
Meanwhile, the singer recently opened up about the painful experiences he endured during his childhood, recalling how repeated accusations and punishments from his pastor father affected his confidence.
Spyro revealed that his father would accuse him of stealing whenever money went missing in church and would publicly describe him as a troublesome child.
He said the embarrassment was sometimes followed by gestures such as buying him milk after the missing money or items were eventually found. However, Spyro noted that such gestures could not undo the emotional damage caused by being publicly accused.
