Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has taken to social media to seek clarity over what she described as her strange emotional behaviour.
In a post shared on Instagram, the Yoruba movie star disclosed that she often feels unhappy and sad on behalf of complete strangers, a situation she finds confusing. Wumi jokingly questioned if she had unknowingly been initiated into witchcraft.
Sharing her thoughts, she wrote:
“If ex never dies or remarries, and may be relocated or lost. Abeg no involve me, make nobody use me heal.
Why am I unhappy with strangers?
Abi, I don collect witch wey I no know ni?
Pls, be gentle on me, it’s peri meno.
I love my fave, but I’m sad for the stranger.
Could it be witchcraft?
Who among you dash me abeg?
Pls, I thought I would share, maybe I will feel better.
If internet like make e nor forget.”
Her post has since sparked conversations online, with many reacting to her unusual display of empathy.
Meanwhile, Toriola recently spoke about the realities of filmmaking in Nigeria, noting that filmmakers are forced to create movies in an economy that constantly pushes them to their limits. She stated that budgets often threaten to silence creative vision, but despite the struggles, she refuses to allow challenges define her story.
The actress also criticised some upcoming actors who charge excessively, lamenting that many half-baked talents with little interest in improving their craft are becoming increasingly common in Nollywood.
In another Instagram post believed to be a shade, Wumi questioned an unidentified individual about whether their movie ranks among the top five, stressing that her focus is not competition but remaining among the best.
Recall that the actress recently bragged about her influence following her return to Nigeria after spending three months away. She noted that even in her absence, her name remained loud, adding that she believed her algorithm missed her.
Wumi has also previously described herself as someone who walks her own path unapologetically, stating that she does not allow hype, noise, or public opinions to distract her from her goals.
