Popular Nigerian actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has voiced her deep concern over the escalating wave of killings and kidnappings in Oyo State, describing the situation as both heartbreaking and alarming.
Taking to her Instagram page, the movie star lamented how the worsening insecurity has shattered the peace of the state, leaving families devastated and residents—especially children—living in constant terror. For Toyin, the crisis hits close to home due to her strong cultural roots and family ties to Oyo.
Highlighting the recent tragic events in Oriire Local Government Area and surrounding communities, she expressed profound grief for heartbroken parents whose children have been abducted. "Nigerians should not be forced to live in fear or wake up daily to reports of violence," she emphasized.
While she commended the Oyo State Government and security agencies for their ongoing interventions, the actress urged them to accelerate efforts to rescue the remaining hostages. She also demanded stronger proactive measures to prevent future attacks.
Closing her statement with a call for national unity and prayer, Toyin stressed that violence must never be normalized, urging Nigerians to keep speaking out against insecurity.
