Rema, Tyla headline FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony lineup

Rema has been announced as one of the headline performers for the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.

FIFA confirmed on Saturday that the “Calm Down” hitmaker will perform alongside South African star Tyla, American rapper Future, pop star Katy Perry, Brazilian singer Anitta, and BLACKPINK member LISA during the Los Angeles ceremony scheduled for June 12, 2026.

The world football governing body also revealed that the tournament will feature three separate opening ceremonies across the host nations—Mexico, Canada, and the United States. The first will hold in Mexico City on June 11, followed by events in Toronto and Los Angeles on June 12.

According to FIFA, the multi-city celebrations are designed to merge football, music, and entertainment into a unified cultural showcase across North America.

“For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, a new benchmark will be set as three spectacular opening ceremonies unfold across Mexico City, Toronto and Los Angeles,” the statement read.

FIFA added that the Los Angeles event will begin 90 minutes before kickoff and will feature large-scale visuals, immersive storytelling, and performances centered around the FIFA World Cup Trophy, with more artists expected to be announced in the coming months.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the lineup reflects both the cultural diversity of the United States and the global reach of music, describing it as a celebration of unity through entertainment.

The ceremony is being produced in collaboration with Balich Wonder Studio, a creative production company known for staging major international sporting and entertainment events.
