He is the son of Ayinde Adeola Ogunleye and Abeeni Olasunbo Ogunleye and was raised in the Alimosho area of Lagos. Although he spent his formative years in Lagos, his family roots trace back to Ogun State, where he hails from. As of 2026, he is 56 years old.



Education

Adeola began his educational journey at State Primary School, Alimosho, Lagos, where he completed his primary education. He subsequently attended Community Grammar School, Akowonjo, Lagos, for his secondary education. Driven by a passion for finance and accounting, he later enrolled at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, where he earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting.

To strengthen his professional expertise, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), reflecting his strong foundation and commitment to excellence in the accounting profession.



Professional Career

Before venturing into politics, Adeola established a distinguished career in accounting and finance. He spent approximately 12 years with The Guardian Newspapers Limited, where he advanced to the position of Accountant. He later joined Olatunji Omoyeni & Co., a chartered accounting firm, serving as a Senior Auditor.

Building on his extensive professional experience, he founded SOOTEM Nigeria Limited, a tax consultancy firm, where he served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Through the company, he provided tax advisory and financial consultancy services to individuals and corporate organizations.



Political Career

Adeola's political journey began in 2003 when he was elected to the Lagos State House of Assembly to represent Alimosho Constituency II. He served two consecutive terms from 2003 to 2011, during which he contributed to legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening Lagos State's revenue generation and financial management systems.



In 2011, he was elected to the House of Representatives as the member representing Alimosho Federal Constituency. While in the Green Chamber, he distinguished himself through his oversight responsibilities and served as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, one of the House's most influential committees.



His political career advanced further in 2015 when he was elected Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District. He successfully secured re-election in 2019 and played prominent roles in the Senate, including serving as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, where he was actively involved in fiscal and economic policymaking.



In 2023, Adeola won election as the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, a strategic position that places him at the center of Nigeria's national budget planning and implementation process.

Senator Adeola is married to Temitope Adeola, and their union is blessed with children.
