Uche Jombo Slams Bloggers for Exposing Late Actor Alex Ekubo’s Wife Online
Nollywood actress Uche Jombo has publicly criticized bloggers and social media users for exposing the identity of late actor Alex Ekubo’s wife.
The backlash follows a wave of viral photos and videos showcasing the actor's grieving widow, which began circulating just a day after his service of songs. The sudden online exposure shed light on a deeply private aspect of the late actor's life, sparking widespread curiosity.
Taking to her social media page, a visibly displeased Jombo condemned the lack of respect for the family's privacy. She revealed that Ekubo had intentionally kept his marriage out of the spotlight to shield his wife, a boundary his inner circle always respected. Even at his service of songs, his widow wore a face mask to maintain her anonymity—a gesture Jombo says bloggers completely ignored.
“A husband who been through public scrutiny kept his wife private (to protect her). None of his close friends ever shared her picture, she wore face mask to his service of songs. Yet somehow the privacy message didn’t register to bloggers. Woke up today to her videos and pictures all over my TL as breaking news,” Jombo wrote.
Prior to his passing, Ekubo's marital status had been a subject of intense speculation, as many fans were unaware of his private nuptials. However, associates like Grace Makun and actor Williams Uchemba had previously hinted at the marriage, noting that Ekubo fiercely guarded his personal life. The actor’s family later officially confirmed he was indeed married before his death.
Alex Ekubo tragically passed away on May 11 at the age of 40, following a private battle with complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
