Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has challenged veteran artiste Terry G to a celebrity boxing match, claiming the bout would revive the "Akpako Master's" career while giving fans another major entertainment spectacle.
The outspoken singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television's Rubbin' Minds, where he discussed his growing interest in celebrity boxing, his desire for a rematch with skit maker Carter Efe, and his relationship with rapper Olamide.
Portable said a one-on-one boxing match with Terry G would bring renewed public attention to the veteran musician, who has maintained a relatively low profile in recent years.
"I want to fight Terry G. If Terry G fights me, one-on-one in boxing, he will rise again. People will remember him again," Portable said while demonstrating his boxing stance during the interview.
The challenge adds another chapter to Portable's growing involvement in celebrity boxing, a space that has increasingly gained popularity among entertainers in Nigeria.
Portable also expressed his determination to avenge his recent defeat to comedian and content creator Carter Efe.
The singer suffered the first loss of his celebrity boxing career in May 2026, when Carter Efe secured a unanimous decision victory during Chaos in the Ring 4 in Lagos.
Before that defeat, Portable had recorded two consecutive victories—defeating actor Charles Okocha by decision in December 2023 before knocking out rapper Speed Darlington in April 2025.
Despite the setback, Portable insists the rivalry is far from over.
"I will go again with Carter Efe. I will beat him," he declared, adding that he is also interested in another fight with Charles Okocha before travelling to London for future engagements.
Away from the boxing ring, Portable dismissed rumours suggesting he had fallen out with YBNL founder Olamide, who played a significant role in launching his mainstream music career after the success of Zazoo Zeh.
"I did not fight Olamide. He's my helper," the singer said, reaffirming his respect for the award-winning rapper.
Portable also made one of his trademark bold declarations, claiming that no Nigerian artiste would win a Grammy Award without collaborating with him.
The statement, which has since generated reactions on social media, reflects the singer's confidence in his influence within Nigeria's music industry, although it remains his personal opinion.
The singer further argued that his participation has helped increase public interest in celebrity boxing, saying the sport has enjoyed greater visibility since he began stepping into the ring.
According to Portable, the combination of his music career and outspoken personality has attracted more fans to celebrity boxing events across the country.
As of the time of filing this report, Terry G had not publicly responded to Portable's challenge or indicated any interest in participating in a celebrity boxing match.
Whether the proposed showdown eventually materializes remains uncertain, but Portable's latest callout has once again placed him at the center of conversations across Nigeria's entertainment industry, where his music, controversies and boxing ambitions continue to generate headlines.
