Uzor Arukwe Rejects Comparison With Gabriel Afolayan, Praises Colleague's Talent
Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has dismissed comparisons between himself and fellow actor Gabriel Afolayan, insisting that both actors possess unique talents and should not be ranked against each other.
Naija Brain reports that the debate began after a social media user, identified as Big Timi, asked fans to choose who they considered the more versatile actor between Arukwe and Afolayan.
The user wrote: “Between Uzor Arukwe and Gabriel Afolayan, who is the more versatile actor?”
Responding to the discussion on Thursday via his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, Arukwe said there was no basis for comparing him with Afolayan, whom he described as a respected colleague and a highly talented actor.
“There should be no comparison between me and my bro Gabriel Afolayan @gabbylucciii 😊 We are both talented actors in our own right, and his talent is one I will always respect. ✊🏾,” Arukwe wrote.
His response has since attracted positive reactions from fans, many of whom commended his humility and sportsmanship for choosing to celebrate a colleague rather than fuel the online debate.
Uzor Arukwe and Gabriel Afolayan are widely regarded as two of Nollywood's finest actors, having earned acclaim for their performances across a wide range of film and television productions.
