Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has raised the alarm over the worsening challenges facing Nigeria’s aviation industry, warning that the sector could collapse within the next 30 days without immediate government intervention.
Onyema said the difficult operating environment is putting significant pressure on airlines and threatening the sustainability of the sector.
He pointed to rising operating expenses, foreign exchange challenges and other financial pressures as some of the issues making it increasingly difficult for airlines to remain profitable and maintain their operations.
The Air Peace chairman urged the Federal Government and relevant aviation authorities to respond quickly, stressing that delaying action could have serious consequences for the industry.
He also called for measures that would ease the burden on local airlines and create a more sustainable environment for aviation businesses to operate.
The warning has renewed concerns over the health of Nigeria’s aviation sector, with stakeholders increasingly calling for urgent steps to address the challenges affecting airlines and passengers.
Onyema maintained that immediate action is necessary to prevent the situation from deteriorating further and protect the country's air transportation system.
