Jim Iyke Reveals Why He Didn’t Help Son After Being Bullied In France
Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has explained why he refused to intervene after his son was bullied by other children during a trip to France.
The actor made this known while speaking on the Lahor Podcast, where he shared his views on fatherhood, parenting and the importance of allowing boys to develop resilience.
NaijaBrain reports that Jim Iyke argued that fathers have an important role to play in raising boys, particularly in helping them develop the qualities needed to become responsible men.
According to the actor, mothers raising sons alone may not be able to provide every form of guidance required in raising what he described as a “complete man.”
Jim Iyke also recounted an incident involving his son at a beach in France.
He said his son was bullied by other children while playing and later approached him to report the incident.
However, instead of stepping in, the actor said he deliberately allowed his son to handle the situation himself.
Jim Iyke explained that his son eventually returned to confront the children, fought them and retrieved his ball.
The actor said such experiences could help boys learn how to deal with challenges and stand up for themselves.
He said, “There’s no single mother alive who can raise a complete man alone. At a beach in France, my son was bullied by other kids. He came to report to me, but I did nothing. He went back, fought them and took his ball back. That’s how boys learn.”
Jim Iyke’s comments have generated conversations about fatherhood, single parenting and the role parents should play when children face difficult situations.
