Kidnappers Increase Jowizaza’s Father’s Ransom Demand to ₦1.5 Billion. Kidnappers who abducted billionaire businessman Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, father of Nigerian socialite Jowizaza, have reportedly raised their ransom demand from ₦700 million to ₦1.5 billion.
Ezeokafor, chairman of Jezco Group, was reportedly abducted in Ifite, Awka, Anambra State, on August 5, 2026.
The abductors initially demanded ₦700 million from the businessman’s family for his release.
However, reports indicate that the kidnappers have now more than doubled the amount to ₦1.5 billion.
The latest development has heightened concerns over the businessman’s safety, particularly as reports suggest communication between the abductors and his family has become increasingly difficult.
Ezeokafor’s family is reportedly working to secure his safe release amid the escalating ransom demand.
As of the latest reports, authorities had not publicly confirmed the new ransom figure or provided detailed information on the businessman’s whereabouts.
The reported abduction has also renewed concerns over the worsening security situation and the increasing targeting of wealthy individuals in parts of southeastern Nigeria.
