Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has announced her departure from Turkish Women’s Super Lig side Galatasaray after spending two years with the club.

The Nigerian international joined Galatasaray Women from French club Stade de Reims in 2024 on an initial one-year deal. Her impressive performances saw the club extend her contract after she established herself as a regular member of the team.

However, Galatasaray were unable to replicate their 2023/24 league-winning success during Demehin’s spell, and the 23-year-old centre-back has now ended her time in Turkey.

Demehin confirmed her departure in a post on Instagram, thanking the club and its supporters for their support throughout her time in Istanbul.

“Thank you, Galatasaray, for an incredible chapter. It has been an honour to wear this badge and represent this great club. I leave with great respect, gratitude, pride and unforgettable memories. Wishing the club continued success,” she wrote.

The former Rivers Angels defender is yet to announce her next destination, but she is expected to attract interest from clubs as teams across Europe prepare for the new season.

Demehin recently represented the Super Falcons at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria were eliminated in the quarter-finals and missed out on a place in the World Cup play-offs.

She was sent off during Nigeria’s second group-stage match against Zambia but the Super Falcons held on to secure a 1-0 victory despite playing with 10 players.
