Emmanuel Obasi, the estranged former husband of Nollywood actress Judy Austin, has reacted to a reported ₦1 billion lawsuit filed against him, declaring that no amount of legal pressure will stop his efforts to regain access to his children.
Obasi disclosed his stance in a statement posted on his Facebook page following public discussions surrounding his previous marriage and his ongoing struggle to reconnect with his children.
Dismissing the suit, Obasi expressed disbelief at the ₦1 billion demand, describing the figure as absurd and stating that he had been laughing over the situation since learning of the legal action. He maintained that the lawsuit would fail to intimidate him or derail his custody demands.
“One billion. Mr Obasi has become Central Bank. You sue me one billion. You fit count them? I’m just laughing since yesterday,” Obasi said in a video reaction. “Some people don’t know the reason why I’m laughing.”
The former husband further accused those involved of intentionally keeping the children away from him and attempting to influence them against him. He reiterated that his resolve to remain a presence in their lives remains unshaken.
“There is nothing I cannot do to have my children. Just mark my word,” he stated. “Why are you hiding my children from me? Why are you manipulating those children? Do you think that lawsuit can scare me away from asking for my children? The answer is no. You don’t know me very well.”
The development marks the latest escalation in the ongoing public and legal disputes involving the actress's former family ties. As of press time, representatives for Judy Austin have not issued an official response to Obasi’s latest statements.
