Kira Taiwo, daughter of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has accused some Nigerians of allegedly attempting to profit from her father’s health condition.

The veteran actor is currently battling stage-four cancer, according to reports.

Speaking during a TikTok live session on Saturday, Kira expressed frustration over financial demands allegedly being made by some individuals who claimed they wanted to assist the family.

She said some people had approached the family with demands ranging from ₦800,000 and ₦5 million to $11,000 and $18,000, questioning how the family was expected to meet such financial obligations.

Kira stressed that the family was not wealthy enough to handle such demands and that their primary concern was securing proper medical treatment for her father.

She also revealed that the situation was affecting her emotionally and physically.

“I want to check my BP; I am not okay too,” she said.

According to Kira, her father’s illness has also taken an emotional toll on his brother, whom she affectionately described as her “big daddy.”

She said she learnt how deeply affected her uncle was through the family’s group chat, where relatives regularly discuss Ogogo’s health.

Kira recalled seeing a message from her cousin indicating that her uncle had asked whether Taiwo was going to die.

She explained that the brothers share an exceptionally close bond, making Ogogo’s health crisis particularly difficult for the entire family.

“My big daddy loves my daddy too much,” she said, adding that she believed her uncle was also struggling to cope with the situation.

Kira further disclosed that she had withdrawn from social media because seeing pictures and updates about her father’s condition had become emotionally overwhelming.

She said she was unsure how she would cope if anything happened to her father and insisted that her emotional disclosure was not an attempt to seek sympathy.

Kira added that she had gone online simply to “cool off” but became emotional because of her close relationship with her father.

“I am so connected to my daddy. Nothing can be okay, ever. He just wants the best for everybody. He just wants everybody to be okay,” she said.

The family continues to focus on finding the best possible treatment and support for the veteran actor amid his health battle.
