Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has dismissed claims that she abandoned her husband, Bobby Maris, amid speculation surrounding the state of their marriage.
Ogbodo made the clarification on Thursday after a follower accused her of walking away from her husband following her recent cosmetic surgery.
The actress firmly denied the allegation in her response, stating that she had not left her husband.
“I didn’t dump my husband,” she wrote.
Ogbodo also responded to another follower who urged her to forgive Bobby and resolve whatever issues they may have in their marriage.
Her responses come amid growing public interest in the actress’s relationship with her husband.
Her latest comments come about a month after she publicly addressed reports that she was separated from her husband and questioned the pressure women face to remain in marriages despite being unhappy.
At the time, Ogbodo expressed frustration with the expectation that women should not be allowed to become weary of their marriages. She questioned why the responsibility of fixing or ending troubled relationships is often placed heavily on women, while men are seemingly given greater freedom to walk away when they have had enough.
The actress also reflected on the years she had invested in her marriage and the emotional strain she was experiencing. She cautioned against pushing her to a point where she would no longer be able to cope with the situation.
