Nigerian Afropop star Yemi Alade has unveiled It’s Yemi Alade, her seventh studio album and 10th body of work. The 16-track project features collaborations with Ferré Gola, Don Jazzy, Singuila and Jeriq.

Mama Africa is back with a vibrant new body of work, taking listeners on a sonic journey across the continent. Global Afropop powerhouse Yemi Alade has officially released her seventh studio album and 10th overall body of work, titled It’s Yemi Alade.
Celebrating the release on Instagram, the singer described the album as a deeply personal milestone and a new chapter in her musical journey.
Following her 2024 album Rebel Queen, the 16-track project puts the guitar at the centre of its storytelling, weaving its sound through different genres, languages and collaborations.
On “Coco na Yam,” Yemi Alade teams up with Congolese singer and producer Ferré Gola for a rich rumba-inspired offering, blending silky French and Lingala vocals with a sweet, minimalist guitar riff.
Romance takes a grander turn on “Ala Bekee,” where Don Jazzy’s laid-back delivery meets sweeping orchestral arrangements before giving way to an upbeat wedding-band highlife groove.

Even as Yemi Alade explores classic R&B on “Titanium,” she stays rooted in her highlife influences, delivering soaring vocals that effortlessly rise above the production. She shifts into expansive Afro-house on “Earth Song,” powered by a steady four-on-the-floor groove, while “Paradise” features French-Congolese star Singuila on a multilingual blend of mellow piano chords and laid-back midtempo rhythms.
Cultural identity takes centre stage on “Overtake,” where the distinctive sound of the traditional Igbo slit drum, known as the ekwe, anchors an expressive guitar melody as Yemi exchanges fiery verses with indigenous rapper Jeriq.
It’s Yemi Alade is more than an album—it is an emotional journey where diverse sounds, languages and African rhythms come together in a celebration of home.
