Nollywood actress Laide Bakare is celebrating her daughter, who clocks 18 today, September 3.
Sharing beautiful photos of the birthday girl, the actress expressed her joy as her daughter officially enters adulthood. She reflected on how quickly the years have passed, recalling how it feels like only yesterday that she held her daughter in her arms as a baby.

Laide apologised for the rushed birthday photoshoot, explaining that her tight schedule left her with little time to prepare. The actress admitted she wished she had more time to make everything as perfect and beautiful as her daughter deserved.
The Yoruba movie star also expressed her heartfelt appreciation to her daughter for loving her unconditionally, accepting her for who she is, understanding her and having such a beautiful heart.

“I honestly don’t know where the years went. It feels like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms as my little baby, and today, my beautiful Similoluwa Chelsea Aliya OK is officially 18!
My baby girl has stepped into adulthood, and my heart is filled with so many emotions.
I’m sorry your birthday photoshoot had to be rushed because of my incredibly tight schedule. I truly wish I had more time to make everything as perfect and beautiful as you deserve. But I hope you always remember that no matter how busy life gets, my love for you never gets too busy. It never gets tired, and it will never become smaller.
Thank you, Similoluwa, for loving me exactly as I am. Thank you for accepting me, understanding me, and loving your mummy with such a beautiful heart. You have no idea how much that means to me.
You are one of the greatest gifts God has ever given me, and I will forever be grateful that He chose me to be your mother.
And Chelsea, just look at you! You replicated my entire beautiful look! Seeing my beauty reflected in you fills my heart with so much joy. You are my beautiful reflection, my mini-me, my answered prayer, and one of the biggest reasons my heart smiles.
As you step into this beautiful new chapter of adulthood, my prayer is that God will order your steps, protect you from every evil, bless you beyond your expectations, and surround you with genuine love, favour, wisdom and beautiful opportunities.
Happy 18th birthday, my beautiful daughter. May this new chapter be everything you deserve and more. I love you endlessly. ❤️

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has continued to shower love on her daughter, Similoluwa, as she celebrates another milestone in her life.
On Similoluwa’s 17th birthday, the actress penned a heartfelt tribute to her daughter, praising her for being a good girl and describing her as a better version of herself.
Laide also appreciated Similoluwa for always supporting her, learning from her and loving her unconditionally.
The proud mother did not hold back when it came to celebrating her daughter, as she pulled out all the stops for an extravagant birthday party at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.
The star-studded celebration attracted several personalities, including Nollywood stars Biola Bayo and Ayo Olaiya.
However, one of the biggest highlights of the night came when Similoluwa took the microphone to deliver an emotional birthday speech.
The teenager broke down in tears while speaking about her mother, describing Laide as a strong woman and the best mother she could ask for.
She particularly praised the actress for going above and beyond to make her happy and fulfil her heart’s desires despite the harsh economic situation.
Recall that Laide made headlines last year after revealing that she was the one who introduced her daughter to clubbing and alcohol at 17.
Her revelation sparked a massive backlash online, with social media users dragging the actress over her parenting choice.
But Laide was quick to set the record straight.
Taking to Instagram, she clarified that she never introduced Similoluwa to alcohol but only took her to a club to give her some exposure and prepare her for the future.
The actress further insisted that she was not as bad as people portrayed her.
In another post, Laide maintained that both she and her daughter were innocent, stressing once again that she never introduced Similoluwa to alcohol.
