The organisers of the annual Zenith Bank/Delta State Principals’ Cup have announced the schedule for the 2026 edition of the secondary school football championship.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on September 30 at the St. Patrick’s College Field, Asaba, with the grand finale set for November 5.
According to the organisers, a press conference to provide details about the tournament format will be held in Asaba on September 28. The announcement comes as registration for the competition, which began on September 15, is set to close on Thursday, September 25.
Hidea Plus Limited, the organisers of the championship, also revealed that the preliminary matches will be played across the various local government areas of Delta State from October 2 to 16.
The zonal playoffs are scheduled to take place at designated centres on October 20 and 21, while the quarter-finals will be played between October 23 and 24 at selected venues.
According to Hidea Plus Chief Executive Officer, Tony Pemu, the two semi-final matches are scheduled for October 27, with the tournament culminating in the grand finale at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
It would be recalled that Urhobo College emerged champions of the 2025 Zenith Bank/Delta State Principals’ Cup after defeating Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School 2-1 in the final at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
