Manchester City close gap on Arsenal after Brentford thrashing

Manchester City kept their Premier League title push alive with a 3-0 win over Brentford on Saturday.

Despite the comfortable scoreline, the match was tightly contested, with Brentford feeling aggrieved after several key refereeing decisions went against them in the first half, which ended goalless even as City dominated possession.

The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when Jérémy Doku produced a superb curling finish to put City ahead. The winger, who had scored twice in a 3-3 draw against Everton earlier in the week, once again delivered in a crucial moment.

Erling Haaland then added a second with a clever backheel from close range before turning provider for the third goal, setting up Omar Marmoush to seal the victory.

The result moves Manchester City to within two points of leaders Arsenal, tightening the Premier League title race as the season heads into its final stretch.
