Nigerian skit maker and singer, Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, popularly known as Nasboi, has called out critics pressuring celebrities to voice their opinions on national politics.
Taking to his 𝕏 handle, Nasboi urged Nigerians to show more empathy toward public figures who choose to stay quiet.
He pointed to fellow entertainer Mr Macaroni as a prime example, noting that despite standing up for the public and facing harassment for it, Macaroni was ultimately mocked and insulted by the same people he defended.
Nasboi argued that courage varies from person to person, and just like everyday citizens, some celebrities simply prefer to stay out of politics. "Celebrities are humans like you," he reminded his followers, urging everyone to respect personal boundaries.
