Cubana Chief Priest Brags of New Car Gift Despite APC Primary Defeat
Popular Nigerian socialite Paschal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has hit back at critics mocking his recent defeat in the APC primary election. Chief Priest lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu.
During a recent TikTok live session with content creator Peller, the businessman laughed off the trolls, revealing that the party is actually "pampering" him. To prove his point, Chief Priest claimed a party chairman gifted him a brand-new car to console him for the loss.
“To the people insulting me, APC is pampering me and the party is working to my favour," he said. "One of my chairmen bought me a brand new car for losing the election and it will be delivered to me tomorrow.”
In the same session, Chief Priest opened up about his political standing, admitting that President Bola Tinubu doesn't fully trust him yet due to his Igbo heritage and his past alignment with Peter Obi. He explained that some within Tinubu's inner circle view him as a potential loyalty risk. Defending his exit from Obi's camp, the socialite bluntly stated he jumped ship because he was tired of being on the losing side of politics.
