Davido Says Wife Chioma Manages His Finances Due to His Reckless Spending
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his wife, Chioma Adeleke, oversees his finances because of his spending habits.
Naija Brain reports that the singer made the disclosure in a viral video circulating on social media.
In the clip, Davido was seen placing a phone call to Chioma, informing her that he was unable to access his account and asking her to transfer $4,000 to his personal assistant, Lati.
He said, “Hello, hello baby, good morning my wife, my love. Help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t login, I don’t know why, is the service here. Alright. We’re taking off now to Naija, I love you.”
Reacting to the call, Davido's official streamer, Davreltv, asked, “So your wife has been managing the money?”
Responding, the award-winning singer admitted that Chioma plays a key role in managing his finances due to his tendency to spend excessively.
“Of course, you know I’m a reckless spender. Na she dey arrange everything. Na my life coordinator be that,” Davido said.
Meanwhile, Nigerian music star Davido has disclosed that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 (approximately ₦300 million to ₦400 million) every month to maintain his lifestyle.
Speaking during a recent livestream with streamer Davrel, the award-winning singer said being a celebrity comes with significant financial responsibilities.
According to Davido, his monthly expenditure of between ₦300 million and ₦400 million excludes the personal expenses of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, as well as other members of his household.
He said, “I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month and that doesn’t even include my wife’s expenses or the rest of my household.
“It also doesn’t include expenses for the purchase of luxury cars and jewellery.”
