Nigerian singer Spyro has opened up about how he met his wife, Janet Atom, revealing that their relationship began after they met at a nightclub where she worked.
Naija Brain reports that the singer made the disclosure during an interview with Esther Feyi, explaining that Janet was not at the club for leisure but was employed there at the time.
Spyro stressed that he was not condemning people who go clubbing, noting that it was her role at the venue that caught his attention.
According to him, he became curious about why she worked at the club, prompting him to strike up a conversation with her. Their interaction soon blossomed into a friendship, which eventually developed into a romantic relationship.
The singer said he later realised that Janet possessed all the qualities he had been looking for in a life partner, even though marriage was not initially on his mind.
He said, “I met my partner working in the club, not partying in the club, but that’s not to say that partying is wrong. She was working there and that’s how I got to notice her.
“I was curious to know why she was there and why she was working at the club, and that was what made me have my first conversation with her.
“We got talking and we became friends. Then one day, my eyes opened and I realised that what I had been looking for was right in front of me. I wasn’t really thinking of making it a lifetime thing, so I said, ‘Before I quickly miss it, let me swing into action.’”
