Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has declared that she no longer feels the need to seek anyone's approval or compromise her self-worth to remain relevant in the movie industry.
Naija Brain reports that the award-winning actress made the statement during an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, where she reflected on her journey to success and the confidence she has gained after years of hard work.
Abraham said reaching the peak of her career has given her the freedom to choose the projects she takes on and the people she collaborates with, insisting that she is no longer interested in chasing acceptance.
The actress explained that her current position is the result of years of perseverance, sacrifice and continuous improvement, as well as the unwavering support of fans and industry stakeholders who have stood by her.
She added that she now focuses only on opportunities that align with her goals and prefers working with people who value her talent, vision and contribution.
According to Abraham, becoming more selective about her professional relationships should not be interpreted as pride but as a reflection of the growth and success she has earned over the years.
She said, “I can’t kiss anybody’s ass anymore because God has blessed me with a platform where I can decide who I want to work with. No more begging for acceptance.”
