Nike Partners Educational Basketball to Revive Rowe Park, Discover Nigeria's Next Basketball Stars

The historic Rowe Park basketball court is set to reclaim its place at the centre of Nigerian grassroots basketball as the Nike-backed Educational Basketball Summer '26 tournament gets underway from July 31 to August 2.

Long regarded as one of Lagos' most influential basketball venues, Rowe Park has played a pivotal role in nurturing young talent, hosting memorable street contests and shaping the careers of countless aspiring players over the years.

With support from Nike, the Educational Basketball initiative is now breathing fresh life into the iconic venue, using the three-day programme to identify promising talents and provide them with opportunities to develop their skills.

The event will feature competitive games, basketball clinics and mentorship sessions aimed at equipping young athletes with the tools needed to progress both on and off the court.

Beyond the action on the hardwood, the initiative seeks to reinforce Rowe Park's legacy as a cornerstone of youth development and community sports, while inspiring a new generation of Nigerian basketball players.

Organisers believe the partnership marks an important step in strengthening grassroots basketball by combining Nike's global influence with Educational Basketball's commitment to nurturing local talent.

As players, coaches and fans converge on Rowe Park, the tournament is expected to celebrate the venue's rich heritage while opening new doors for Nigeria's future basketball stars.
