Former Big Brother Naija housemate Erica Nlewedim has opened up about the emotional challenges she experienced after leaving the reality TV show, revealing that years of online criticism eventually led her to seek professional help.

The actress disclosed that she struggled with the constant insults and negative comments directed at her following her controversial exit from the reality show.

According to Erica, the prolonged online backlash began to affect her emotionally, particularly whenever she received notifications on social media.

She revealed that she eventually sought the help of a therapist after enduring years of insults, as the experience had taken a toll on her mental well-being.

Erica also spoke about stepping away from acting in 2024, explaining that she needed time to deal with some of the pressures and challenges she had encountered in the entertainment industry.

The former reality TV star further revealed that her BBNaija background sometimes affected how she was perceived within Nollywood, with some producers questioning her abilities as an actress because she came from reality television.

Despite the difficulties she experienced, Erica acknowledged that her participation in BBNaija significantly changed her life and created new opportunities for her.

However, she ruled out returning to a reality show similar to Big Brother Naija, saying her experience had shown her the emotional pressure that comes with such a platform.
