Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor Headline ‘Black Market’ as Lagos Premiere Targets World Record. Nollywood actors Lateef Adedimeji and Linda Ejiofor are set to take centre stage in Black Market, a new crime thriller that is gearing up for a major Lagos premiere.
The film is scheduled to premiere on September 26, 2026, at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, where the organisers plan to combine the movie launch with an ambitious attempt at a Guinness World Records achievement.
The producers are targeting an audience of 50,000 people for a single screening, aiming to surpass the current record of 43,624 attendees, reportedly set during a film screening in the Philippines in 2015.
Black Market, written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and Fatimah Binta Gimsay, explores the world of cross-border smuggling, following characters caught up in a dangerous cycle involving crime, survival and betrayal.
The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Itele D Icon, Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok and Uzor Arukwe, alongside Adedimeji and Ejiofor.
If successful, the planned screening would mark a significant milestone for Nollywood and make the Black Market premiere one of the industry’s most ambitious cinema events of the year.
