Paul Pogba Leaves Monaco After Just One Season as Contract Is Terminated

French midfielder Paul Pogba has parted ways with Monaco after the Ligue 1 club agreed to terminate his contract, bringing his brief return to European football to an early end.

Pogba joined Monaco in June 2025, signing a deal that was expected to keep him at the club until 2027 as he looked to rebuild his career following a lengthy period away from competitive football.

However, his time in Monaco was disrupted by injury problems, limiting his opportunities to make an impact on the pitch.

The former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder made only six appearances for Monaco during his spell, including just one start.

The decision to end the contract means Pogba is now a free agent and will have to consider his next move as he looks to continue his professional career.

The 2018 World Cup winner has endured a difficult period in recent years, with injuries and a doping suspension limiting his playing time.

Pogba’s departure from Monaco marks another change in his attempt to return to regular top-level football after a prolonged absence.
