“You’re Banned From Performing in Edo” — Gov. Okpebholo’s Aide Warns Davido

Apostle Kassy Chukwu, the Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo on Digital Media, has issued a stern warning to Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Chukwu claimed that Davido had been barred from performing in Edo State for the duration of Governor Okpebholo’s administration.

The governor’s aide made the statement amid the ongoing disagreement involving Davido and Governor Okpebholo.

The dispute reportedly followed comments made by the Edo governor concerning Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle.

Davido subsequently reacted to the governor’s comments on social media, escalating the exchange between the singer and the Edo government.

Chukwu criticised Davido’s response and accused the singer of making comments he considered disrespectful to Governor Okpebholo and his family.

He warned Davido against returning to Edo State for performances, insisting that the singer should not expect to be welcomed in the state.

The aide also claimed that Davido’s comments had angered some residents and youths in Edo, further heightening tensions surrounding the controversy.

The development has generated reactions online, with social media users debating the warning and the growing disagreement between the singer and the governor’s camp.
