Nigerian comedian and content creator, Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, popularly known as Bae U Barbie, has opened up on why he quit skit making.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Bae U revealed that he walked away from skit making because he was tired of being “average.”
According to him, the decision came as he sought to rediscover himself and explore something beyond the conventional skit-making space.
He explained that the idea for his popular comedy talk show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, emerged during that period of self-discovery.
Bae U said he wanted to create something different and carve out his own identity rather than simply follow the path of other skit makers.

According to him, he was tired of being “average” and wanted to carve out a different path in the entertainment industry. He revealed that Zack’s show, Between Two Fence, also inspired the concept.
“The concept of Curiosity Made Me Ask came from me finding myself. I was tired of being average and wanted to do something different. I didn’t want to be like the skit makers. A show called Between Two Fence by Zack inspired Curiosity Made Me Ask,” he said.
The content creator also revealed that one of his biggest ambitions is to sit down for an interview with United States President Donald Trump.
So far, Bae U has hosted conversations with several notable Nigerians, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, veteran actor Pete Edochie and veteran broadcaster Frank Edoho, among others.
