Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has endorsed Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Naija Brain reports that Ozokwor stated her position while attending an event organised under the banner, “Celebrities for Peter Obi.”
Speaking at the gathering, the veteran actress described Nigeria as a country richly endowed with natural resources but lamented that the nation had failed to fully harness its wealth for the benefit of its citizens.
Ozokwor noted that Nigeria had been blessed with abundant resources, arguing that countries with significantly fewer natural resources had been able to provide better living conditions for their people.
The actress also expressed concern over the widening gap between wealthy Nigerians and those struggling to afford basic necessities.
According to her, some Nigerians have accumulated enough wealth to cater for themselves, their children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren, while a large number of citizens continue to endure economic hardship.
She said Nigeria had been given enormous blessings but had failed to make the most of them.
Ozokwor also highlighted the importance of integrity, stating that celebrities supporting Peter Obi could rely on their reputation and personal integrity.
She said: “I see this country as a spoiled child. There is nothing God did not provide for us. Other nations of the world, if they have one-quarter of what God has given to us, would be better than what they are today.
“Some people in this country have laid up for themselves, for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity. I have mine.”
