Nigerian singer Johnny Drille has revealed that his relationship with his wife, Rima Tahini, began during his time at Mavin Records, where she was also working as a music executive.
Naija Brain reports that Drille said he first connected with Tahini in 2018 while he was signed to the record label.
Speaking in an interview with Music Moments, the singer credited Mavin Records and its founder, Don Jazzy, for creating the environment that eventually brought him and his wife together.
According to Drille, their relationship started around November or December 2018, but the couple chose to keep their romance private and away from the public eye.
Johnny Drille and his wife, Rima Tahini, managed to keep their relationship away from the public eye for nearly five years before fans discovered they were together.
By the time their relationship was publicly confirmed in July 2023, the couple had already been married for more than a year.
Drille revealed that their relationship began in late 2018 after they met at Mavin Records, where Tahini previously served as Director of A&R.
He said: “I met my wife at Mavins. I think about it now and how much work we had to put into keeping it under wraps for so long. We started dating in November/December 2018, and the rest of the world got to know in July 2023. And that’s probably five years after, and by then, we had already gotten married. It wasn’t easy keeping it under wraps, but I am grateful.”
The couple later welcomed their first child, a daughter named Amaris Esohe Ighodaro.
