STEM Africa Fest 2026 attracted more than 3,800 children, parents, teachers and STEM advocates to Lagos on 18 July 2026, inspiring young minds through this year's theme, "Building Future Innovators."
The festival offered participants an engaging, hands-on experience across key areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, with practical workshops covering coding, artificial intelligence, engineering and other emerging technologies.
Since its launch in 2021, STEM Africa Fest has focused on developing the next generation of African innovators by creating opportunities for experiential learning and collaboration. The 2026 edition featured activities in drone technology, chess, mental mathematics and the traditional art of Adire, combining digital innovation with cultural creativity.
Young attendees also connected with industry experts and mentors who shared career insights, practical knowledge and guidance on pursuing opportunities within the rapidly evolving STEM sector.
Organisers described the festival as a platform dedicated to nurturing creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while empowering African youth with the confidence and knowledge needed to become tomorrow's innovators and technology leaders.
